On 16 September 2025, GIN held a successful 23rd Annual General Meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.
The meeting was opened by the outgoing Chair of the Board, Professor Holger Schünemann who gave an insightful presentation on developments and achievements from the 2023-24 year, including:
- Over 500 delegates from 48 countries attending this year’s Conference, who enjoyed a busy programme that featured 479 abstracts
- The launch of GIN’s official Journal, Clinical and Public Health Guidelines, the world’s first journal dedicated to the science of guideline development and guideline related work
- 10 Working Group meetings, 3 Regional Community meetings, and 2 Focus Group sessions being held across the year
- A significant global expansion of the INGUIDE training program
- Strengthened partnerships with the World Health Organisation and other key partners
New GIN Board members
The appointment of two new Organisational Trustees, Nain Mirabel Yuh and Simon Van Cauwenbergh, was also announced during the AGM, as well as the re-election of Dr Miranda Langendam.
The new Executive Committee for 2025-26 was confirmed as Dr Roberta James steps into the role of Chair (with thanks to Professor Holger Schünemann for his hard work on GIN’s behalf as he steps down). Roberta is joined by Dr Murad Alam (Vice-Chair) and Dr Amir Qaseem (Treasurer).
Attendees of the AGM were also given a brief overview of GIN’s current financial position.

Incoming Chair, Dr Roberta James closed the agenda with an overview of GIN’s plans and priorities for the 2025-26 year ahead and revealed the details for the 2026 Conference.
