Cochrane Iberoamerica – INPECS is a non-profit organization within the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Public Health at the Hospital de la Sant Creu I Sant Pau (Barcelona, Spain). Cochrane Iberoamerica is one of the fourteen international centres that form the Cochrane Collaboration. Its scope of responsibility stretches across Spain, Portugal, Andorra and all Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America. Cochrane Iberoamerica directs and coordinates the Iberoamerican Cochrane Network and provides methodological support to systematic review developers in the region. Cochrane Iberoamerica collaborates participates in calls for grant proposals and contracts since 1997 and has been granted since 2014 GRADE Centre status: Barcelona GRADE Centre. Additionally, INPECS is involved in guideline development and updating, in collaboration with different organisations. INPECS has played a prominent role in the drafting of manuals for the preparation, updating and implementation of guidelines within the Spanish National Health System (SNS) – Ministry of Health, coordinated by GuiaSalud. Lastly, INPECS leads a productive line of methodological research in guideline development and updating.
