The Guidelines International Network (GIN) currently hosts 19 topic-specific working groups, bringing together members across a wide range of disciplines. These groups provide a collaborative space to network, share best practice, stay up to date with developments in the field, work on publications and practical resources—such as toolkits.

With a growing number of members working in public health, GIN is now exploring the potential establishment of a dedicated Public Health Working Group and we are keen to gauge interest from across the global guidelines’ community.

This group would bring together professionals with expertise or an interest in public health to collaborate on issues that uniquely influence guideline development and implementation in this area.

Public health spans a broad range of topics—including infectious disease control, health promotion, and population health—and often presents distinct challenges compared to clinical guideline development. Applying established guideline methodologies in these contexts can require different approaches and innovations.

The proposed working group would create a collaborative space to:

  • Share experiences and expertise
  • Identify common challenges
  • Develop and promote best practices for public health guideline development
