Dr. Raija Sipilä is the chief editor at the Finnish Medical Society Duodecim. She leads the department developing national, evidence-based Current Care Guidelines. She has experience as a guideline methodologist for over 15 years and has been involved with guideline development nearly 25 years. Nationally she has been involved in several national development and academic projects aiming at improving guideline methodology; development of performance measures, adaptation, incorporating Choosing Wisely recommendations into guidelines, patient involvement, and including economic information into guidelines. Her research expertise is in guideline implementation and de-implementation.

Raija is a specialist in public health. She has, until last year, worked also as a general practitioner.

She has served as a member of GIN Nordic steering group since 2019 and as a chair since 2023. She is a member of Nordic GRADE network coordinating group.
