Marge Reinap has been leading the work on Evidence for Policy Development under the Division of Country Health Policies and Systems at the WHO Regional Office for Europe since 2020. In this role, she supports WHO Member States in the European region in strengthening, monitoring, and evaluating national capacities to identify, translate, and use evidence in policy and practice. She also promotes and advocates for the establishment and strengthening of mechanisms and institutions for using evidence to support decision-making, including clinical and public health guidelines.

Marge serves on the WHO Guidelines Review Committee, which is established to ensure that WHO guidelines are based on the best available evidence and are produced in ways consistent with internationally accepted best practices..

She joined WHO in 2012 as the Head of the WHO Country Office in Estonia, where she was responsible for WHO operations, facilitating policy advice, and providing technical assistance. Her passion for evidence-informed approaches was ignited through her work in Estonia, where she supported the strengthening and optimization of the guideline development program and built capacity in evidence-informed policymaking.

Marge began her professional career at the Ministry of Social Affairs of Estonia in Public Health Department, first as an analyst and later as the Head of Health Policy. She holds Master Degrees in Public Sector Economics and Global Health Policy and has co-authored numerous publications and peer-reviewed articles on health policy, guideline development, and evidence-informed policymaking.
