Dr Lorenzo Moja currently serves the WHO Secretariat of the Model List of Essential Medicines (aka EML) as scientist. His work focuses on increasing value for patients and communities by selecting best medicines. Lorenzo has supported the five last updates of the EML, contributing to comprehensive revisions of medicines for cancer, diabetes, and hepatitis C and antibiotics.

Lorenzo is an internationally renowned researcher on prioritization of health care interventions, developing creative solutions to some of the most pressing global health challenges – antimicrobial resistances, price medicine crisis, and waste in research. He has advised governments of several countries including those emerging from crisis and conflict.

Lorenzo is also a Professor of Public Health at the University of Milan.
