Ein-Soon Shin holds a PhD degree in Public Health from Yonsei University (Korea, 1991).

She has been working for Korean Academy of Medical Sciences (KAMS) since 2013, as Research Head of Agency for Clinical Practice Guidelines in South Korea. She was a member of the Executive Committee for Clinical Practice Guidelines of KAMS (2011-2018). Her past experiences include Visiting scientist of International Visiting Clinician Program at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, USA (1991-1992); Assistant professor at Cha University Graduate School of Public Health in Seoul, Korea (2001-2004); and Assistant research professor at Aju University School of Medicine in Seoul, Korea (2012-2013). She has been a member of GIN since 2013 (vice-chair of the Adaptation Working Group, 2018-2022), a member of GRADE Working Group since 2016, and a Cochrane author in Papas Group since 2012.

As a methodologist and a secretary, Ein-Soon coordinates KAMS’ 8 different Guideline Development Committees (Hypertension, Diabetes, Dyslipidemia, COPD, Asthma, Atrial Fibrillation, Chronic Kidney Disease and Depression), funded by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency. Such role demands an expert knowledge in evidence-based guideline development using both adaptation and de-novo process and be in responsible charge for dissemination via Conference & implementation of digitally structured guideline (www.digitalcpg.kr)for primary care physicians.
