
Dr. Curtis Harrod is an epidemiologist and biostatistician and has nearly 20 years of evidence synthesis experience. He is a Senior Scientist at the American College of Physicians and was formerly an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Research Director at Oregon Health and Science University. He has multifaceted experience of leading the implementation of evidence into clinical policy decision making for state Medicaid programs and other public and private insurers, guideline programs, and additional stakeholders. Dr. Harrod led the development and ongoing implementation of innovative visual clinical guidelines for the American College of Physicians, which allows users to more easily digest clinical guidelines and interact with the data that informed ACP’s clinical recommendations. He also co-led the creation of the STEM project or Systematically Testing the Evidence on Marijuana, which hosts user friendly evidence synthesis materials and other useful products for clinicians to learn more about cannabis and its effects on various clinical topics. He has been awarded as a top peer-reviewer by world renowned clinical journals and published numerous types in these types of journals as a lead and senior author.
