The Scientific Knowledge Accelerator Foundation is a nonprofit organization (with 12 board members from 6 countries).
The specific objectives and purposes of this corporation shall be:
- to accelerate scientific knowledge development and dissemination by making science computable;
- to support virtual scientific knowledge accelerator groups, in which
- support may include financial support, promoting awareness, education, monitoring needs, progress towards achieving the goals, project management, and guiding principles, and
- virtual scientific knowledge accelerator groups are organizations to develop, improve, disseminate, and implement standards (schema, terminologies), tools, processes, and systems for identifying, processing, and disseminating scientific knowledge);
- to seek funding such as grants or funding equivalents such as in-kind effort
- to communicate the needs and priorities for virtual scientific knowledge accelerator groups
- to provide rights management for content (intellectual property) produced by virtual knowledge accelerator groups; and
- to engage in other activities related to the development and dissemination of scientific knowledge, and the development and dissemination of standards and tooling to facilitate communication of scientific knowledge.
