Xiaomei Yao is the Associate Director of Guideline Quality and Methods at the Program in Evidence‑based Care (PEBC) within Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario). She is also a part‑time faculty member in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact at McMaster University, Canada.

Xiaomei has contributed to the Guideline International Network (GIN) community for several years, serving on the Abstract Review Committee for the GIN Annual Conference from 2021 to 2024; and as a member of the GIN/North America Steering Group from 2020 to 2024. She currently serves as an Associate Editor for Clinical and Public Health Guidelines—GIN’s journal, and as Section Editor for “Epidemiology and Statistics” for Surgical Oncology.

In her role at PEBC, Xiaomei works closely with a team of 11 methodologists to develop highquality, evidencebased guidelines in the field of cancer care. Her research interests include guideline methodology and quality, and she is currently involved in several international methods initiatives such as GRADECheck, AGREE III, and TRUSTGUIDE. She is also interested in exploring how artificial intelligence can support and enhance systematic review processes and guideline development.
