Dr. Yasser Sami Amer is a paediatrician, certified guideline methodologist, healthcare quality and safety specialist, and health informaticist based at King Saud University Medical City (KSUMC), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He has over 15 years of experience leading and supporting evidence-based healthcare initiatives, with a particular focus on the development, adaptation, appraisal, and implementation of clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) across the Eastern Mediterranean Region and internationally.
Yasser has been an active member of the Guidelines International Network (GIN) since 2009 and currently serves as Chair of its Adaptation Working Group, contributing to global methodological standards for guideline adaptation and contextualization in addition to being a member of other working groups. Through his leadership within GIN, he supports capacity building, methodological innovation, and cross-country collaboration among guideline developers and implementers.
His academic work spans systematic reviews, guideline quality appraisal using AGREE Tools, implementation science, improvement research, and related digital health solutions to support evidence-informed practice. Yasser regularly collaborates with national and international partners, contributes to guideline governance and sustainability models, and supports the translation of research into practice-ready tools and policies to improve healthcare quality, safety, and patient outcomes.
