Dr Sheyu Li works as a clinical professor (chief physician) and endocrinologist in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism and evidence-based medicine methodologist in MAGIC China Centre, West China Hospital of Sichuan University. His major research interest is the living clinical practice guideline and associated network meta-analysis using GRADE approaches for type 2 diabetes and related conditions (e.g., adiposity, dyslipidaemia, chronic kidney disease, and heart failure).

He is leading or being involved in several international projects of living evidence ecosystem, component and regular network meta-analysis, and shared decision making.  He is also leading an electronic medical record (EMR)-based multicentre database of diabetes (WECODe) for real-world studies and evidence localisation. Dr Li used to be the clinical co-chair of a BMJ Rapid Recommendation, a trustworthy clinical practice guideline, for SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists in adults living with type 2 diabetes.  He is now the co-editor-in-chief of JMIR Diabetes and freelance editorial advisor for The BMJ.
