Danielle Pollock

Dr Danielle Pollock is a Senior Research Fellow in the Health Evidence Synthesis, Recommendations and Impact (HESRI) group within the School of Public Health at the University of Adelaide. The importance of evidence‑based healthcare is deeply personal for Danielle, shaped by the stillbirth of her daughter in 2014. Since then, she has been a leading advocate for embedding lived‑experience expertise throughout the evidence pipeline. She is now a nationally and internationally recognised researcher and methodologist in evidence synthesis, guideline development and stillbirth.

The Guideline International Network (GIN) has been central to Danielle’s professional trajectory. Welcomed into the global community in 2020 as an early‑career researcher, she benefited from the generosity, expertise and shared commitment to evidence‑based healthcare that characterise GIN. She went on to establish the Australian and New Zealand Guideline Network, now comprising more than 400 members, and has served the GIN community as Secretary, Vice Chair and Chair of the GIN Australia and New Zealand Regional Group, as well as Coordinator of the ANZ Guideline Network. Her contributions were recognised through the 2025 Najoua Mlika Cabanne Innovation Award and her appointment as a GIN Fellow in 2026.

Danielle leads and contributes to major guideline and evidence synthesis initiatives, including Australia’s first Motor Neurone Disease Care Guidelines, where she has developed and sustained meaningful lived‑experience involvement. Internationally, she contributes through roles such as member of the Cochrane Patient and Partner Executive, Chair of the JBI Scoping Review Group, and active participant in multiple methodology groups focused on strengthening guideline development and evidence synthesis.
