Duncan Service is currently Evidence Manager at SIGN responsible for developing the methodology and advising staff and group members on how to use the methodology. He is also the Non-Executive Employee Director on the Board of Healthcare Improvement Scotland. Duncan was a Board member of G-I-N from 2011- 2022 where he was Treasurer for seven years and Chair for two years.
Duncan has also been involved in several research projects including being Project Lead for WP3 DECIDE EU funded project looking at how to present guideline recommendations to patients/ public and the ERASMUS Cost-Conscious Healthcare (CoCoCare) Project. He was an active early member of the GRADE working group and past chair of the UK GRADE network of which he is still a member. He was also a member of the NICE Accreditation Committee.
Duncan has also delivered various training courses around guideline development. His work now is more in Healthcare Policy and Governance than research but he still has an interest in all aspects of guideline development.
