Short Survey: Rapid knowledge appraisal methods in times of COVID-19

We recognise that guideline developers around the world are developing guidance at great speed in response to the Covid-19 pandemic in the absence of what is normally considered to be high quality knowledge or evidence. To record how G-I-N members appraise and include the very varied and sometimes limited knowledge available to inform their guidance we are conducting a rapid survey. It should only take up about 5 to 10 minutes of your time.

Find the link here: https://forms.gle/Ea9WCUtSxMwU5W8WA
We hope to receive replies ASAP and latest by Friday May 15th.

The survey is conducted by the Working Group on Appraising and Including Different Knowledge (AID Knowledge) and is supported by G-I-N. We intend to send out a more extensive survey after a few weeks to get a more in depth understanding of which approaches for rapid knowledge appraisal methods have been applied. This record of current experience will be used to generate an overview of knowledge appraisal methods that have been used and may lead to generalisable advice about methods to use in similar situations.

We really hope that you will be prepared to help us in this project and please contact Dr Teun Zuiderent-Jerak (teun.zuiderent-jerak@vu.nl) directly if you want more information. Although we have asked you to name your institution all responses will be kept confidential and any quotations used in an eventual publication anonymised.

Thank you for your help.

Beth Shaw & Teun Zuiderent-Jerak, on behalf of the AID Knowledge Working Group
