COVID-19 and the Challenge to Guidance

An E-GAPPS-IV Virtual Conference and Open Space Convening

COVID-19 has affected our lives and work. Responses to it in Canada, the United States, and Mexico were shaped by rate of viral spread, populations at greatest risk of infection, sources and quality of scientific information, culture, and politics. Significant uncertainty reigned during the surges of the early months of 2020, warranting a need by clinicians and other stakeholders for rapid, evidence-based and/or evidence-informed guidance. How did each of our countries and communities meet the need?

E-GAPPS IV will engage healthcare providers, representatives of the clinical practice guideline community, information specialists and healthcare consumers from Canada, the US and Mexico, in an exploration of innovative approaches to coping with the crisis and of potential ways in which clinical and guidance communities can most effectively collaborate under such circumstances.

Mark your calendars for this 2-day (no more than 4 hours per day) virtual event! More information is to come about registration and fees. Note: a small fee will be charged to help offset the costs of the virtual tools and skilled facilitation for the open space convening.
