Hosting future G-I-N conferences

Interested organisational members should contact Allison Smith, Conference Project Manager if they would like to find out more about being a co-host or to see a sample proposal and budget.

We are delighted to confirm that we are bringing the 2020 conference to Toronto, where our local host will be McMaster University and preparations are well underway.

G-I-N will be working with Cochrane, the Campbell Collaboration and the Joanna Briggs Institute to build on the successes of Cape Town to advance the use of reliable research evidence in addressing some of the world’s most serious health and social challenges.  The host of the Global Evidence Summit 2021 is the Czech National Centre for Evidence-Based Healthcare and Knowledge Translation (CEBHCKT).

The board made the decision some time ago to relax the rotation model in order to remove geographical restrictions so that interested organisational members may better plan ahead if they would like to co-host a conference, however, we remain keen to rotate the locations to maximise accessibility from all regions.

We are keen to hear from all interested organisational members to co-host G-I-N 2022 and beyond.  We are maintaining a list of potential future hosts, so please get in touch to note your interest and we will keep you updated on timescales for the formal bidding process in the future.

Interested organisations should contact with any questions in the first instance and to find out more detailed information about the organisation of a G-I-N conference.

We recommend working with the local convention bureau in preparation of a bid as they have proved very helpful to potential local hosts and can normally provide the local marketing information to be included in the proposal.

G-I-N provides a template budget for prospective local hosts and guidelines for completion.

There is no financial commitment required from a local host, but there are a number of tasks that we ask of you, such as full involvement in the process of appointing a local Professional Conference Organiser, securing sponsorship for the conference, visiting potential venues required for the event and participating in the local organising committee for approximately one year.

Once you have decided that you would definitely like to be a future local host, you should complete the Expression of Interest form and send it along with your full proposal and a covering letter to Elaine Harrow:
