Pre conference courses

The G-I-N 2020 conference committee is now seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified G-I-N members or other associated/affiliated groups such as G-I-N partners to deliver pre-conference courses at the G-I-N 2020 conference, which will be held in Toronto from 29 Sep – 2 Oct 2020. All courses will take place on Tuesday 29th September 2020 at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel.

The theme of the 2020 conference is: “Making Health Choices Transparent, Equitable and Efficient.”

We are seeking to offer 5 full day courses which will provide learning and development opportunities to our delegates in line with G-I-N’s overall purpose, thus potentially being related to the conference theme. Depending on the proposals received, we may consider 2 x half-day courses, but only for local presenters, as there would be no option of having airfares reimbursed for courses less than a full day.
How to apply
Please submit a comprehensive written proposal to Allison Smith at outlining the following information:

  • Aims and objectives of the course
  • How does the course relate to the vision and purpose of G-I-N and/or the conference theme?
  • Detailed programme and timetable, including overall length of course
  • Names, pictures and bios of the workshop facilitators (these will be used on the conference website to advertise the course if selected)
  • Target audience, including maximum number of participants
  • Proposed teaching methods
  • Resources required to be sourced by G-I-N at the venue, such as room size, internet access, materials and equipment
  • Proposed advertising/marketing by the facilitators
  • Anticipated travel costs

You will be notified of the result of your proposal in accordance with the timetable below.  For the full policy, please see here.
Reimbursement for course facilitators
Facilitators will be reimbursed their economy airfare and one nights’ accommodation (amount agreed in advance) at the rate of one reimbursement per fifteen delegates.  Conference registration is not included in the reimbursement but is negotiable in lieu of travel for local course leaders.

Deadline for proposals:  noon, Friday 7 February 2020.
Notification of acceptance and formal agreement of terms:  Monday 24th February 2020
Course information on conference website:  Monday 2nd March 2020
