Conference Participation Support (LMIC)

G-I-N will once again support members from Low and Lower Middle income countries to attend the 2020 conference in Toronto.

G-I-N 2020 Conference – Making Health Choices Transparent Equitable & Efficient.

Our annual conference is at the centre of G-I-N’s strategy around networking and provides the opportunity for all those who work with guidelines in health and care to come together; from development and methodology through to implementation and evaluation.

The conference will be relevant to all health care professionals and anyone with an interest in addressing evidence-practice gaps by promoting best practice and improving the quality and safety of health care.

However, we do recognise that funding is not always available to those members from lower income countries and want our conferences to be as accessible as possible for those members.

We are offering grants to attend the conference and to provide you with the opportunity to be involved in discussions on a wide range of issues.  You will have the opportunity to listen, learn and share experiences and perspectives from around the world on the important role of guidelines in 21st century health care.

The grant will cover one or more of the following: registration fees, accommodation and travel costs (in part or in full). Registration fees and hotel costs will be paid directly.

You must be able to meet the following criteria:

1. Be a member of G-I-N, working for a non-profit or governmental organisation or a university

2. Unable to fund attendance through the organisation you represent or belong to

3. Reside and work in a low/lower-middle income country, as defined by the World Bank

4. Submit a completed application within the published timescales

Interested applicants should submit the following:

1. A completed application form including all relevant information

2. A short statement (250 words) outlining the reasons for application: how you plan to contribute to the conference, anticipated learning outcomes, participation in working group or regional community meetings and expected benefits

3. An estimate of the costs, including any potential funding support for costs not covered G-I-N
