Welcome words from Rich Rosenfeld, Chair of the Scientific Committee

Rich RosenfeldAs Chair of the Scientific Program Committee I am delighted to welcome you to the Guideline International Network’s (G-I-N) eighth international conference, which is the Network’s first conference in Asia.  Our conference is the premier venue for worldwide sharing of knowledge and experience about guideline development, dissemination, and implementation.

I would like to recognize the members of the Scientific Program Committee, whose names appear later in this program, for their energy, creativity, and hard work in crafting an extraordinary event featuring 200 abstracts from 35 different countries.  A highlight of the program is the 5 plenary sessions with internationally known thought leaders from 12 countries (and all continents).  Also included are about 100 oral presentations, 85 posters, 10 workshops, and 4 panel sessions (a new feature for this year).  Still want more? You can partake in an NHS Evidence Satellite Symposium, choose from one of three pre-conference workshops, and enjoy the post-conference Asia-Pacific Evidence-Based Network Meeting.

A common feature to all happenings at the conference is a rich buffet of answers, experiences, and new questions to explore.  Most importantly, G-I-N is a network, and presents ample opportunities to meet and interact with friends, colleagues, and new acquaintances who share our daily challenges.  The G-I-N Conference 2011 provides an informal atmosphere that fosters new friendships and cross-cultural relationships and collaborations.

Welcome to Seoul and enjoy!

Richard M. Rosenfeld, MD, MPH
