Sue has been working for Therapeutic Guidelines Ltd (TGL) since January 2012 when she was appointed Chief Executive Officer. Therapeutic Guidelines Ltd is a not-for-profit organisation that provides comprehensive, current, independent and evidence-based guidelines for patient management. Sue’s professional interest is in promoting the uptake of research into clinical practice.

Prior to joining TGL, Sue worked for 10 years for the National Institute of Clinical Studies and National Health and Medical Research Council where she led national guideline development, implementation and fellowship programs aimed at improving the quality of the Australian health care system.

Sue studied biology at the University of Sussex and completed her doctorate in cellular immunology and cancer research at the University of Oxford. After finishing her postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the Australian National University’s John Curtin School of Medical Research, Sue joined the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing to pursue her interests in health policy development and implementation. From 1999 to 2001, Sue worked for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners where she provided strategic advice on high level policy issues affecting general practice.

In 2008, Sue was awarded an Australia Day Achievement Medallion for services that have made a significant contribution to the nation in relation to the prevention of deep vein thrombosis in Australian hospitals. Sue was a member of the G-I-N Board of Trustees from 2009 to 2016.
